8, 2007 meeting minutes

Meeting called to order at
8:35 PM by Jerry Sullivan.
Meeting Minutes: Copies of the January and February meeting
minutes were made available. The reading
of same was dispensed with and a motion was made and accepted to accept the
minutes.
Treasurer’s Report: Don Rogers presented his monthly report. Total checking and savings account balance for
March reported to be $68,099.23.
Treasurer’s report accepted. Hard
copy of the report is in the meeting minutes archives.
House Report: Frank Huber reported the following:

Summer
registration on -line is going well with the number of players on track to be
about the same as last year.
·
The
photographer will be set-up by the fire hall again this summer with pictures to
be June 2, 9, and 23.
·
The
Just-For-Kicks Program has two weeks left for registration and there will be
three groups with 24 players per group.
Travel Report: Glenn Dolata reported the following:
·
Coaches were
asked to refer to the www.BWNYJSL.org
website relative to team alignments and verify information and division
assignments. Also review dual-carded
player information that needs to be addressed by March 15. In 2008 there most likely will NOT be any
dual carded players.
·
With Spring
approaching – teams are to STAY OFF FIELDS UNTIL ADVISED BY GLENN!
·
On-line
registration for summer travel is now open.
·
Coaches are to
advise Glenn as to fields and days that practice will be conducted.
·
In 2008 U-12
and U-11 will be separate divisions and will be playing 9 v 9.
·
Laws of the
Game, rule interpretations: Throw-ins –
opponents must stand no less than two meters from the point at which the
throw-in is taken. In addition, no
longer is a player to just step/touch a ball on an indirect kick, the leg must
have a forward pendulum motion.
·
Youth coaching
module will be offered at Sportsplex most likely the first week of May, further
information to follow.
·
Coaches will be
receiving new shirts with sizing taken place after the meeting. They are also receiving two new game balls.
Fundraising:
·
Frank indicated
that there will be a fundraiser at Tully’s on the Blvd. (
·
Brick sales –
12 sold to date.
·
Looking for
corporate sponsorships for jerseys for U-8 and older teams for this
summer. $500 per team (approximately 15
kids per team).
·
Glenn indicated
that a $173 check was received from the Pizza Hut fundraiser.
·
Frank indicated
that on Tuesday April 25 from 4:30 – 8 PM there will be a McDonald’s (
·
Glenn indicated
the 3rd annual golf outing will be Saturday, August 25 at Deerwood,
cost $80/4 players with many goodies included.
Other fundraisers will be the chicken barbecue and adult pig roast.
Old Business: The changes in the by-laws relative to
staggering the terms of the Club’s board members was voted on and accepted.
New Business:
Jerry Sullivan emphasized
that parents should look into investing training dollars to support their local
Club for player development. Dual card
holding by players is not going to be permitted in the future. Investigate training options through
Northtowns to ensure player opportunities for the future.
