NORTHTOWNS SOCCER CLUB – May 8,
2008 meeting minutes
Board Members present:
Jerry Sullivan, Glenn Dolata, Frank Huber, Don Rogers, and Bill Weitz.
Meeting called to order at
8:40 pm by Jerry Sullivan.
Meeting Minutes: The
reading of the April 10 meeting minutes were dispensed with and the minutes
were accepted as written.
Treasurer’s Report: Don Rogers presented his monthly report. Total checking and savings account balance as of the
May, 2008 meeting is $172,330.41. As usual all bills have been paid and
deposits made. Treasurer’s report accepted.
House Report: Frank Huber
reported the following:
- Summer House Program
registration is completed with the largest number of players of all times
at 910.
Travel Report: Glenn
Dolata and Frank Huber reported the following:
- Each team should have
corner flags and game balls. See Glenn for Flags.
- Field Striping schedule
is on the website.
- Dan Santangelo is in
charge of striping supplies. Please keep the equipment clean and make
notes for Dan to keep him informed of any issues.
- Coaches make sure you do
the required pledge on the website.
- Eric Wilson’s team won
their age group at the Akron tournament.
- Check website coaches to
make sure your players are all paid up.
- Team raffle tickets were
passed out at the meeting.
Fundraising:
- The Chicken Barbecue
(Chef Phil Bova) will be June 7 from 10:30 AM to 2 PM. Pre-sale ticket
pricing is $8 and after June 1 ticket pricing will be $9. The objective
is to sell 500 dinners. Volunteers are needed. Donations are accepted
and greatly appreciated to reduce costs and increase profits to the Club.
- The Golf Outing at
Deerwood will be on a Sunday, August 24. Teams are encouraged to get
prizes. Each travel team will be charged a $40 upfront fee to sponsor a
hole. Additional information is on the website. Glenn reiterated the
importance of sponsors and the cost per person is $85 to participate.

Fun Time: See website
regarding Family Day at Darien Lake.
New Business: No new
business.
Field Status: There is
some positive progress regarding the Town of Wheatfield (town board support) and
field opportunities, Mario Park and Witmer Rd. property. This most likely will
be the last year for the use of the Middle School property.
