NORTHTOWNS SOCCER CLUB – August 10, 2006 meeting minutes

Attendance:   Jerry Sullivan, Glenn Dolata, Frank Huber, Don Rogers, Andy Constantino, Phil Bova, Ken Belote, Scott Warner, Phil Bova, Sue Calao, Roger Zgolak, Jane Wilson, Bill Weitz and others who did not sign in.

 

Meeting called to order at 8:37 PM by Jerry Sullivan. 

 

Reading of the July 13, 2006 meeting minutes was dispensed with, minutes accepted as is.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Don Rogers presented his monthly report.  Total checking and savings account balance for August 2006 - $77,487.70.   Deposits are made and bills are paid.  Treasurer’s report accepted.  Copy of the report is in the meeting minutes archives.

 

Travel Report:  Glenn Dolata reported the following:

 

·          New travel team coaches were introduced.

·          E License course will be $110 and scheduled for Sept. 8, 9, & 10.  D License course will be $195 and scheduled for Sept. 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and Oct. 1.  Coaches are responsible for the fee but will be reimbursed over two years from the Club, which requires Club commitment.

·          Travel Team equipment was distributed to coaches after the meeting, which was donated by Dick’s Sporting Goods.

·          Scheduling of school gyms should be done through Glenn and Ken Belote.  Younger teams will come first as to gym space.

 

House Report:  Frank Huber reported the following:

 

·          The summer house program ends Saturday, August 12.  The summer picnic will be August 26 @ Fairmont Park in Wheatfield.  All house and travel players and referees are invited.

·          Registration is now on-line for the Fall Just for Kicks (JFK) and Indoor House Programs.  45 kids have registered thus far for the JFK program, registrations still being accepted.

·          Coaches must renew their risk management forms since current registrations expire August 31, 2006.

·          U-6 jerseys are again being donated by Tim Horton’s.

 

Fundraising:

 

·          Todd Lee reported that the pig roast was a great success with 80 people in attendance and over $1,000 was raised. 

·          Glenn Dolata spoke of the August 26, 2006 Golf Tournament.  Golfers, sponsors, and donations are being solicited.

·          Glenn Dolata reported that Hamburg is interested in hosting a soccer tournament next year and inquired as to Northtowns interest in operating the concessions.

 

Old Business:   None.

 

New Business:

 

·          Jerry Sullivan indicated more news next month on another land opportunity.

·          Phil Bova indicated a problem at the fire hall regarding paint spray/splashes on the exterior of the fire hall, which the fire chief was finding issues with.  Every effort should be taken to keep this area clean and to avoid any building damage so that The Club does not lose this privilege.

·          Glenn Dolata indicated the need to start planning well in advance of the outdoor travel and house programs for all the work that needs to be completed initially and ongoing during the programs.
