NORTHTOWNS SOCCER CLUB – September 14, 2006 meeting minutes

Attendance:   Jerry Sullivan, Glenn Dolata, Frank Huber, Don Rogers,  Bill Weitz, Roger Zgolak, Ken Belote, Patrick Glick, Sue Colao, David McMaster Jr., Bryan Russell, Arleta & Robb Sharples, Frank Strangio, Ryan Essenburg, Jane Wilson, and Phil Bova.

 

Meeting called to order at 7:41 PM by Jerry Sullivan. 

 

Reading of the August 10, 2006 meeting minutes was dispensed with, minutes accepted as is.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Don Rogers presented his monthly report.  Total checking and savings account balance for September 2006 - $66,237.93.   Deposits are made and bills are paid.  Treasurer’s report accepted.  Copy of the report is in the meeting minutes archives.

 

Travel Report:  Glenn Dolata reported the following:

 

·          E-course concluded.  13 of the 23 course attendees were Northtowns club coaches – Glenn indicated there are 33 clubs and Northtowns had the largest participation.

·          On Saturday September 16 Glenn is looking for help in taking down the nets at the Middle School.

·          Coaches must communicate with Ken Belote relative to gym space for their teams.  U-9 and U-11 teams take first priority for gyms.  The Club will reimburse the teams for a portion of their facilities cost.  GLENN EMPHASIZED THE IMPORTANCE OF RESPECTING THE FACILITIES THAT YOU USE, CLEAN UP AFTER USE, AND TALK TO THE CUSTODIAL STAFF REGARDING WHAT THEY EXPECT.

 

House Report:  Frank Huber reported the following:

 

·          In-door registration continues with 240 registrants at this time.

·          Travel uniform samples are at Frank’s house – Frank will fill your order.

 

Fundraising:

 

·          Presentation by Judy J. regarding a new home based business specializing in fund raising.  Various items for the holidays, impulse items, decorative, catalog, and sports related items.  40 – 50% markup for club profit%.  Select items or mass merchandising.  Orders from catalog can be shipped directly to your home.  Contact Frank Huber for further details.

·          Frank Huber mentioned magazine sales through ESPN.  Web site: www.coaches.espn.com

·          Glenn Dolata mentioned that Entertainment Books are available and he has the order forms.

·          Glenn Dolata reported the 2nd annual golf outing was a great success.  Fundraisers are in place and will require greater participation – support and help.

 

Old Business:   None.

 

New Business:

 

·          Jerry Sullivan indicated the floor at Sportsplex is now complete.

·          Frank Huber indicated that the Town of Pendleton has purchased property near the Country Cottage Restaurant and Northtowns will be leasing a portion of the land for $1,400/per year (15 year lease).  More costs will be made available to the Club during the October meeting.  Jerry indicated that this will be a major investment for the Club and will require everyone’s help and support.
