NORTHTOWNS SOCCER CLUB – September 13, 2007 meeting minutes

Note: Per Jerry Sullivan, the back door to the meeting hall will be open for members to enter. Also, when you purchase beverages from the bar area you must sign in at the bar area per the requirements of The Eagle Club.

Board Members present: Jerry Sullivan, Frank Huber, and Don Rogers.

Club Members present: Cheryl Calkins, Patrick Glick, Ted Pickard, Jorge Martinez, Arleta Sharples, Michael Smith, Eric Wilson, Dieter H. Zahn, Dawn Miller, Phil Bova, Bryan Russell, George L. Pettapiece, Ken Belote, Dan Santangelo, Todd Lee, Jane Wilson, Andy Constantino, John Lysek, and Don Gunderson.

Meeting called to order at 8:32 pm by Jerry Sullivan.

Meeting Minutes: The reading of the August 9, 2007 meeting minutes was dispensed with and the minutes were accepted as written.

Treasurer’s Report: Don Rogers presented his monthly report. Total checking and savings account balance for September is $92,106.96. As usual all bills have been paid and deposits made. Treasurer’s report accepted.

House Report: Frank Huber reported the following:

· The indoors house program starts mid-October, 255 players have registered to date with registration (on-line) ending Saturday, September 22.

Travel Report: Glenn Dolata was not present so Frank Huber reported the following:

· Coaches were reminded to order uniforms on-line through Andy Constantino.

· Goalie training will be offered in early November at Sportsplex, 6 week program on Saturdays for $40, for Northtowns players ONLY, registration will be on-line and further details will be e-mailed in the near future.

· Travel passes and team rosters will be distributed to the coaches in the near future.

· Ken Belote is to be notified by the team coach when you need a school for practice.

· All coaches should have their risk management information in since the current information has expired and you should not begin practice without such renewed documentation.

Fundraising:

· Jerry Sullivan reported that the golf outing took place.

· The Beer Blast at Caputi’s on Sheridan will now be in October. Further details to follow.

· Dawn Miller distributed coupons for Tully’s Restaurant on Niagara Falls Blvd. for SEPTEMBER 27, 10% of the check will be donated back to The Club.

Old Business:

· Jerry Sullivan tabled the discussion regarding the field project until next month when Glenn Dolata will be back.

New Business: None.

Guest Speakers:

1. Dan Dolan has opened a soccer training program facility located at 748 Young St., C/O Tonawanda, and is open for players 3 years of age to 18. Website: toplevelsoccer.com. Information distributed at meeting. Dan can be reached at 418-2162.

2. John Seiler who performs strength conditioning can provide your teams with training support. He works at Sweet Home School (work # 250-1357) and can be contacted to coordinate such training for your team. His training expense can come out of your team’s allotted monthly training vouchers.

3. John Cambria & Ted Pickard are partnering with The Club for on-line merchandise for your teams with the sharing of profits on a quarterly basis. Visit The Club’s website for additional information and contact Ted at 553-0295 for additional information, logo design, etc.
