NORTHTOWNS SOCCER CLUB – October 12, 2006 meeting minutes

Attendance:   Don Rogers, Glenn Dolata, Frank Huber, Bill Weitz, Phil Bova, Dave McMaster Jr., John Lysek, Don Gunderson, Frank  Strangio, Cheryl Calkins, Jane Wilson, Ken Belote, David DeFrank, Patrick Glick.

 

Meeting called to order at 7:46 PM by Glenn Dolata.

 

Glenn Dolata opened the meeting indicating that Jerry Sullivan was at home not feeling well.  Assistance was requested for Jerry’s dialysis needs for transportation to Millard Fillmore Gates Circle on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

 

Guest Speaker:  Sal De Rosa spoke regarding his Upstate Soccer Academy program to begin at Sportsplex this January.  Information regarding the program and resumes for his coaching staff were distributed to meeting attendees.  This information is attached to the meeting minute archives.

 

Reading of the September 14, 2006 meeting minutes was dispensed with, minutes accepted as is.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Don Rogers presented his monthly report.  Total checking and savings account balance for October 2006 - $74,223.64.   Deposits are made and bills are paid.  Treasurer’s report accepted.  Copy of the report is in the meeting minutes archives.

 

Travel Report:  Glenn Dolata reported the following:

 

·          Travel coordinator position is still open and the position needs to be filled by January 1.

·          The field coordinator position is still open.

 

House Report:  Frank Huber reported the following:

 

·          There are 335 children registered for this fall’s indoor session.

·          Goalie training is being offered at Sportsplex.  Please register your goalies on-line ASAP.  The five Saturday program begins Saturday, November 11, $35 per child is the cost.

·          Contact Frank for uniforms.

·          Snoopy league is being formed for a ten week session to begin in January.

·          There was an unfortunate adult incident during the JFK parents vs. kids game so there will no longer be any parents vs. kids’ games.

 

Fundraising:

 

·          Glenn Dolata has the Buffalo 2007 coupon books.  $5 script money is earned on each book.

 

Old Business:   None.

 

New Business:

 

·          Don Rogers suggested that three returned checks from 2004 be disposed of from the accounting books.

·          Ken Belote indicated that all gym utilization will be finalized, and all coaches should advise Ken of desired trainers.  Ken also has information on Sahlens and Epic facilities/tournaments.

·          Frank Huber provided additional information on the Pendleton property located between 4268 – 4278 Beach Ridge Rd.  90 acres of which 20 acres are allotted for Northtowns.  The town is finalizing the property purchase.  Cost to Northtowns will be $1,400 annually.  US Soccer approved a grant application.  A conceptual design is being developed for review by the town board.  Frank is requesting marketing expertise from the Northtowns Soccer Club body.
