NORTHTOWNS SOCCER CLUB – November 9, 2006 meeting minutes

Attendance: Jerry Sullivan, Don Rogers, Glenn Dolata, Frank Huber, Bill Weitz, Phil Bova, Dave McMaster Jr., John Lysek, Frank Strangio, Roger Zgolak, Jim Pokoj, Todd Lee, Sue Colao, Eric Wilson, Ken Belote, and any others that did not sign in.

Meeting called to order at 7:36 PM by Jerry Sullivan. Note: Other than the December meeting, Christmas/holiday party that will start at 6:30 PM, future meetings will be at 8:30 PM.

Reading of the October 12, 2006 meeting minutes were dispensed with, minutes accepted as is.

Treasurer’s Report: Don Rogers presented his monthly report. Total checking and savings account balance for November 2006 - $66,770.73. Deposits are made and bills are paid to date. Don requested that all checks be itemized in the future for proper accounting purposes. Treasurer’s report accepted. Copy of the report is in the meeting minutes archives.

Travel Report: Glenn Dolata reported the following:

· D Course did not happen. NYS West might offer the course in the spring.

· Ken Belote passed out a list of travel team trainers. Coaches are to keep Ken informed of any others and trainer performance.

· Glenn again stressed the importance of being respectful to the schools - gyms that are used, keep clean and communicate with the custodial staff regarding any issues.

· Glenn requested assistance on Saturday to break down the remaining nets at the Middle School.

House Report: Frank Huber reported the following:

· 23 players for goalie training were identified to begin such training this Saturday, November 11, from 1 – 2 PM at Sportsplex, which will be for the next five Saturdays.

· Tryouts for the Snoopy Program will be December 16 at 1 & 2 PM at Sportsplex – boys/girls, 7 & 8 yrs. old.

· Registration for the winter session has begun with 400 children projected.

Fundraising

· Glenn Dolata has the Enjoy the City 2007 coupon books. $5 script money is earned on each book. Glenn has the order forms.

Old Business: None.

New Business:

· The Christmas/Holiday Party will of course be at the December meeting to begin at 6:30 PM.

· Jerry Sullivan received a thank you card from the girl’s soccer booster club for the use of the refreshment trailer during their season.

· Frank Huber has received sponsorship donations from Calspan ($250) and Verizon ($750).

· Frank Huber indicated that approximately $39,000 is needed by Penhurst for all the preliminary design, permits, surveys, etc. The concept design is almost completed. A preliminary estimate for the final completed project is $500,000. A planning committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 28 at 7 PM at Sportsplex. Further details will be communicated by e-mail.

Jerry Sullivan asked Andy Constantino to amend the by-laws to change the term of the board officers from one to two years on a rotational basis.
